About our speaker, Deborah Strebel Pierce:
Deborah Strebel Pierce retired as Deputy Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigative Division of the FBI in 2006.
Among her responsibilities was the oversight of the FBI’s investigations of drugs, gangs, organized crime and the FBI Art Crime Team. Prior to her position in Washington DC, she was the Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office for three years where she was transferred from the Inspection Division at FBI Headquarters shortly after the events of September 11, 2001.
Deborah’s 27 years in the FBI were spent investigating and managing criminal and terrorism investigations in multiple offices. Since retirement, her international contacts have taken her to places such as Tajikistan, Europe, Canada and Peru to promote leadership for women in law enforcement.
She was a founder of the Minneapolis based Pierce-Weber Partnership which provided insights into the FBI and the CIA. Additionally, she served as founder and officer for The Consortium for Women Leaders in Public Service, a nonprofit still operating in Peru. She has served as the Chairperson of the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter of the Society of Former FBI Agents since 2008. She continues to give presentations about aspects of Art Crime and leadership when she’s not gardening.
